"Long Term PPI's: Balancing the Risks and Benefits"

Target Audience: Gastroenterologists,Internal Medicine Physicians, Gastroenterology Residents, Fellows and Students, Physician Assistants, and Nurse Practitioners.
The MGA Endoscopic Education Program Committee has been formed with the mission of providing practical, evidence-based lectures and seminars to practicing gastroenterologists and GI fellows in New England who may not have the opportunity to attend more distant extended national conferences. This lecture series covers a broad range of topics in endoscopy, hepatology, and gastroenterology.
This course will provide education on recent studies related to PPI risks, and common limitations to the research related to the risks.
Program Objectives
- Understand common limitations in retrospective research related to the risk of PPI's.
- Review some of the key studies related to PPI risks.
- Have a framework for prescribing long-term PPI's
- Feel confident talking to patients about PPI risks.
