Hepatology for the Practicing Gastroenterologist

Program Objectives: As a result of participating in this program, attendees should be able to:

1.   Evaluate initial management and update on data regarding: Ascites, Hepatorenal Syndrome, SBP, Encephalopathy and Variceal Bleeding

2.   Determine appropriate timing of referral for liver transplantation

3.   Assess pre-operative risk assessment in cirrhotic patients

4.   Determine when to initiate HCV therapy.

Program Description: The MGA Endoscopic Education Committee has been formed with the mission of providing practical, evidence-based lectures and seminars to practicing gastroenterologists and GI fellows in New England who may not have the opportunity to attend more distant and extended national conferences. This lecture series covers a broad range of topics in endoscopy, hepatology, and gastroenterology.
